Cast Stone International was chosen by a private client to design, manufacture and install a transitional design fireplace.
An empty wall at first was just dull to look at, the vision of this project was to create an atmosphere where residents and guests can lounge and enjoy the company of others while sitting around a cozy fireplace.
Brackets/Corbels: The Daytona Cast Stone Brackets/Corbels were used for this fireplace build. It’s a transitional design, not to heavy in design, but fits perfectly for a classy appearance.
Fireplace Mantel: Cast Stone International designed this mantel to certain specifications to meet the criteria of the private clients request of filling in the space from niche to niche.
Architectural pre-cast columns: 2 – architectural 10’ Tuscan half columns were used to extend the fireplace to the ceiling. Dimensions on columns were 12” bottom diameter – 10” top diameter
Cast Stone Moldings: Two different types of moldings used: top frame was designed with a straight profile to compliment the straight Tuscan columns, and a flower design molding was used to frame the firebox to compliment the corbels.
Stone Veneer: The stone Veneer was used as the backsplash to the entire structure of the fireplace. Installed in a diamond pattern to make it pop above the mantel, and below mantel; cut in rectangular pieces to accommodate for the firebox and corbels.
Cast Stone Medallion: A beautiful, detailed 30” diameter cast stone medallion plaque placed in the top portion of the fireplace, was used to synchronize the details of the moldings and corbels on the floor elevation to translate to the top elevation.
